The A340 Type Rating<\/span><\/h2>\n

At Irish Flight Training, We provide some of the most experienced instructors in the industry to train you for your Airbus A340 Type Rating. The aim of the course is to give you theoretical knowledge and practical skills to safely operate this large widebody four engine Aircraft once on the line.<\/p>\n

Your Type Rating is set into 4 Stages<\/span><\/h2>\n

Requirements to Start your Type Rating<\/h3>\n

To enrol in the A340 Type Rating course, you must meet at least the following minimum conditions:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Hold a valid CPL with 70 hours PIC<\/li>\n
  • Hold a valid Multi Engine Instrument Rating (IRME)<\/li>\n
  • Have completed an MCC Course<\/li>\n
  • Hold a valid ATPL(A) Theoretical knowledge exam<\/li>\n
  • Have completed an Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) course (only if it is your first MPA type rating)<\/li>\n
  • Hold a valid Class 1 Medical certificate<\/li>\n
  • Have a minimum of Level 4 in English proficiency<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    1 GROUND TRAINING<\/span><\/h2>\n

    110 Hours \/ 17 Days<\/p>\n

    • Aircraft System Computer Based Training – 75h<\/li>\n
    • Specifications \/ Aircraft Limitations – 6h<\/li>\n
    • Performance \/ Weight & Balance \/ MEL Introduction – 6h<\/li>\n
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) – 6h<\/li>\n
    • Abnormal Situations \/ Upset Recovery – 6h<\/li>\n
    • Flight Management \/ FMGS Procedures – 5h<\/li>\n
    • Written Exam – 3h<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

      36 Hours \/ 9 Days<\/p>\n
